I LUV TSIMSHATSUI....

there is a market under a flyover at the TSIMSHATSUI mrt outlet...u come out u will see the market on ur left...

inside this market, i tasted the best beef noodle, yeow choy and the yin-yong cha which is a concoction of coffee mixed with tea and cream...damn shiok!! after that u cross over the road...many pirate t-shirts for sale...got RALPH POLO, YVES, VALENTINO...etc...only HK$20 ea damn cheap...can bargained some more if buy in quantity. u walk another few step, there is an amusement centre. descend the staircase and u will find the biggest pinball machines collection available there...and the place was really really huge...with the latest arcade games...I AM IN HEAVEN!!! :)
MY AFINITY WITH HONG KONG

INITIALLY, I HATED HK. the people make the place really looks bad and notorious. they were known to laugh at poor and out but not the filthy or despicably rich.

the only place that hk brings back fond memories to me was my stay at MONGKOK POLICE RECREATION CLUB where my good hkie pal lived. his wife is the head chai por in charge of this clubhouse...and this place is damn shiok!...got big swimming pool, olympic running tracks, tennis/badminton/squash court, suana, nice restuarant and even a video arcade with a number of my favorite pinball machines

and directly opposite this club was a siao dian yin...a porn theatre...u paid one ticket and u can watch the whole day to your heart's delight. many apeks while watching inside...also wanking the hounds. very very amusing. and u know what - smoking is ok inside.

the next is LANTAU ISLAND where the dai fatt - big bronze buddha is located on a 168, i think so, steps climb platform. very scenic view. very tranquil...and also the place i had my very first buddhism encounter with a kindly old nun there who bestowed me with her "power" buddhist beads she been chanting with.....the beads she gave me had turned into ebony colour from her years of rolling it during her incessant chanting....according to my da shi shiong in a balestier temple, it's really well...powered spiritual beads....hahahaha...

there was another lesser known buddhist temple somewhere slightly below poh lian see (the main one there and an tourist attraction). .....that's the temple i would like to visit again in my next trip.....i got like a feel for that temple....like i might end up there or something like that.....

visit hk for the food and the shopping but not for tourist attraction stuff...cos there r fewer than sinkietown...oh well,...maybe the disneyland and the ocean park and stanley beach pasar malam style stalls....the food...go for the food...the timsum very very cheap, good and big serving...again i can't think of anything in hk but food...and more food... ;9)

there's the ever popular WONG TAI SIN temple...but few people know nearby this temple on a hillside was another even nicer temple called CHI WAN MUIO temple. more things here to see except u must climb up a winding stairs.

there is a yun shek collection arranged in a row - cloud taiwanese rocks, where there are hidden images like guanyin, the horoscopes animals, guan kong, and many other images...it's just like a mini haw par villa...but up there, u can see the whole of WONG TAI SIN district. quite breathtaking, u know.some more hor...got free tea serving there. unlike the very commercialised WONG TAI SIN temple...every damn thing is money...u ve to buy the talisman at i think HK5 or S$1...and if u need those fortune tellers to explain, it would be like HK$20 per talisman. the good thing, it's free entrance and lesser or maybe even no crowd. i accidentally found this place when i took bus and forgot to alight at the wong tai sin bus stop...and it took me all the way up the hill and there i found this very unique temple on the hill slope.

oh...maybe the swimming at CHENG SUI WAN...aiyah..go and explore lah...very interesting observe how hkie behaviours are definitely more mindful and outspoken than the blur kings sinkies here....

they dun hog pathways. they keep left on escalator...before they ask u a question, they said MMM KOI...then (question)...they need to pass u when u r obstructing their way...they go MMM KOI....JIE YAT JIE.....(excuse, pls give way)

they might be damn freaking haughty...but when it comes to right of way...they can be quite diplomatically courteous....

i think i will do my next stories for all my stays in hk...i been there like for more than 8 or 10 times already i can even remember. but each time, the stay is normally quite long maybe a month or even longer...living with my hk pal's family until they migrated in 1997 to vancouver...and then i meet up my hk pal when he returns to hk....and that would be another interesting story when he rented a service apartment room in CAUSEWAY BAY owned by a very interesting hokien lady whom i AU KA LIAO with her...everytime when i about to leave, she would give me some parting gifts like HK lup cheong from WEN WAH LUP CHEONG...very famous and expensive the lup cheongs sold there....

ok...i compiled all my trips there and try to condense it and i maybe called it....

I LUV HONG KONG....
I LUV HONGKONG...AND THE FOOD THERE...GLORIOUS FOOD!

many restaurants in HK open as fast as they close. there was this HOM BAO restaurants chain sells very cheap har hmm char...tea @3pm , half price only....now my other hkie pals told me already closed shop....

when in HK, remember these food which are aplenty there but hardly can find here:

1. roast goose serve with the thick vermicelli soup plus cai xin.

2. yum yum...roast pigeons...last time the price was like HK32 or S$7 a bird....the best one used to be located near GARDEN CITY HOTEL IN TAI KO SENG called the SAN SUI WA... they had another one in shatin and also serve a very mean snake soup...seair kang but they have relocated to vancouver...i ate there once when i visited my emigrated hkie pal.

3. the gluey snake soup...only available during cold weather like now....the best one in YUEN LONG....a 2 hr bus ride there from CAUSEWAY BAY...u garnish this special tonic serpent soup with pomelo leaves and fried crispy wanton skin.

4. vegetarian food at poh lian see, lantau island. this one u ve to buy the food voucher and share tables with other devotees there...very fun. can make friends easily...talk and eat...and chit chat again....

5. try all the tim sum there. the curry cuttlefish in curry sauce...the humongous beef balls, the char leong...chee cheong fun wrapped with you tiao with special sauce.

6. must eat lobster there hor...very cheap. try the cheesy long har...or lobster mee in cheesy sauce...very unique.

7. their hk style version of roast chicken....very very shiok. very springgy type unlike our frozen chicken which taste floury.

8. the tai bah tong...their zhar char....very cheap...if u dun mind the hygiene part.

9. try also the teochew style restaurant...try the mantis prawns or nine lew har stirred fried in just garlic and sea salts...very crispy and fragrant....also available the original teochew stinky tofu...with their special sauce dip...

10. the yu dan tong....u know the roadside hawker selling those stick of lok lok fishballs, beefballs, cuttlefish, scallops...very very shiok and cheap.

11. the desserts stall selling the dan nine...or steam milk egg. go for the double skinned type dan nine...very nice. about HK25 per bowl or S$5

12. go to MOSQUE STREET....yes mosque st...the notorious whorehouse location...u get the ping pong ball wantan mee...the wantan is wrapped with solid fresh prawns...and ths soup stock is for real...not ur msg type...but a bit pricey now...about HK18 about S$4 and side order a yao choy...or boiled cai xin in oyster sauce...

13. go also for the steamboat....or any buffet...i tried GARDEN CITY HOTEL...wow lau...the buffet like infinity long man...can't even taste all the varied food...international, jap, continental...like the world food grouped into here....and only like HK220 a pax. about S$50.

14. got car...go all the way to SAI KONG...best and cheapest seafood...they also got hainan pak chok kai..or hainanese chicken...but dunno the restaurant...it's near to a beach...very nice scenery.

many...many more...just walk see, attack the food...walk, see , then wallop again....everytime i returned from HK... sparetyre greatly inflated....
