yes, there was a temple infact just above that guan yin temple. it was called the TEMPLE OF THE THOUSAND BUDDHAS....this temple is very serene and very beautiful with stacks and stacks of buddhas arranged all the way up to the ceiling. too bad, the bloody gov demolished it and turned it to a fakery parisian kind of lame look out point...nothing to see, dunno what to look out for. :(
and stupidly called this splitted hill from mt faber range, MT WASHINGTON. it's not even a mountain. it's a hill. anything>3000ft then it classified as mountain. and mt faber is the lowest hill in sinkietown. only 345 ft. bt timah is only 581 ft. all not even 1000ft...and they dare called themselves mt. embarrassing...*shaking head*
and opp on the mt faber side, there was a dirty siam temple where i heard lots of orgies happening there. people would go to that place to ask the dirty monks for love talisman...love black magic...love portion...now it's torn down and converted into an exercising pit....
u still love this place...i can sense it. why in the first do u emigrate? care to share ur side of story?

Brother Lee,
I need to write a book if I just want to tell one of my stories like your: THE BIRTH OF GOONIE LEETAHSAR.
My stories will create many "Victoria Falls" among readers; that is if they believe what I wrote after reading them. I would anticipate getting hantam and flame by the "toads and tadpoles" who have not experienced what actually life is all about and will be making 'boh leow' kind of comments. When I hit the reverse gear and 'gostan and gostan' reading your thread, I tell you honestly all the stories you had posted, they make me somehow recalled most my childhood days right up to when I was, like you been "bulldozed" may times and then finally cannot take it any more and went into "forced retirement". "Forced retirement" for me? may be not quite yet, especially my kids are still very young. (They are only in primary school), and one more thing hor, although I can be your older brother, am still as energetic as ever and can be very horny too..hahaha! (ladies reading this any comments?)
I wholeheartedly and sincerely believe 100% the following statement quoted by you:
"....THE PAST IS HISTORY, NO POINT CRYING OR LAMENTING OVER IT, THE FUTURE IS YET TO COME, NO POINT FEARING OR PLANNING FOR IT, IT WILL TAKE CARE OF ITSELF....IT IS THIS PRESENT MOMENT THAT U R LIVING NOW...SO TREASURE THIS VERY MOMENT...treasure the people around u, the air that u breathe...the sight that u r enjoying...for u won't know what would happen next the moment u step out of ur door......BE BRAVE AND PERSERVE. REMEMBER EVERY CLOUDS HAS A SILVER LINING..AND EVERY STORMS END WITH A BRIGHTER DAY....be positive and hopeful. take it as a spiritual training to strengthen urself for further endeavours...."
Yes brother, especially this part: "EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING..AND EVERY STORM ENDS WITH A BRIGHTER DAY".
During my woking life (I had been a salaried worker most part of my working life)I had experienced many incidents of being "bulldozed". I had worked tiresly and honestly...for what? Promotion? Increase in salary? Of course it is every worker's dream. This was not my prime objective, although getting more salary and promotion would definitely be a plus. Like you while getting just $300.00 working for your old man and need to 'pow kah leow', in many previous employment was in the same predicament.I must admit I was getting very much more than your $300.00. The 'bulldoz' was in the form of some SOB/s who always felt their position/s jobs threatened. They would use whatever ways including playing politics to see that my job would be jeopardized. This had happened on few ocassions when I thought I had made my position (job) in the company permanent. Like you when being 'bulldozed' time and again, I just give up working for ppl and try to get something started on my own. Things don't work out as much as I wanted and the "forced retirement" hit me time and again.
So after the "forced retirement" was shafted down my throat I will not want surrender without a "fight" ....(reminded me of my kampong days when I slaughter chickens .... after cutting the throat, drained all the blood into a bowl, then throw it into a big metal pail, this chicken simply jumped up and down and struggled for some time then kaput).... moral of the story: don't simply surrender b4 giving it a good fight! .... So you see I was like this poor chicken, but still jumping and struggling but not yet kaput ..!
While still jumping and struggling, I searched for alternatives to get life going. I like to say something here; I did not want to 'forced retire' bcos of my wife's and kids' sake. I would have 'forced retire' if it is only I, me, and myself to take care of. Financially I was seriously injured just like your CLOB nightmare. (my financial injuries btw had nothing to do with CLOB). I can partly blame it happened to me due to the similar approach like your: " take me for example...i sloughed and sloughed. i honest fat goon guy. never cheat people. always let people cheat me...and the trouble is i know but i still let them cheat me....." another similar examples like you; I also "give free av (african violets?) parts, also free soil mix to a Dr KK to promulgate(?),then acted like a poon pee pee hero who attended the court to explain a traffic summons but ended up paying $200.00 'school' fees" ... and many many more stupid thingsI have done.
During my working life in Sg. I travelled a fair bit. Some of the countries I visited,I simply fell in love with the wide open space, the countryside,(bcos of my kampong days), affordable and yet good lifestyle and comfortable climate. So about 10 years ago,I decided to pack up and head downunder with my family to simply "get on with life".
Since coming here (Oz) I been doing "bits and pieces" earn enough to put food on the table, going for short driving holidays and indulging sometimes eating out with the family and a small amount of 'other luxuries'.
Talking about the 'other luxuries', I drooled when reading your thread about siepeipine(?) treating you to a lobster thermidor dinner. So today went out to the supermarket to stock up my fridge and also like to buy few lobsters to prepare lobster thermidor for the whole family. Only the frozen and cooked lobsters available. So no lobster thermidor for dinner tonight. Instead bought one cooked lobster to make potato salad with mayo. Bought also some scallops, banana prawns, an abalone and some pink snapper fillet. I oredi had some very good chicken stock prepared using tons of 'chicken cage' bones. 'Chicken cage' bones make the stock very clear and not murky.So......? Well I'm going to do the cantonese style 'fit for the emperor' seafood 'Hor Fun' for dinner tonight. No MSG and gravy so deliciooooous it will beat any "tze char" joint in Sg. hands down! Wish you are here to have dinner with us.
Next time hope to tell you more about my kampong days and the days before land reclaimation took place in Bedok, Katong and Pasir Panjang.
OK, I need to fire up my outdoor kitchen stove and heat up the wok now.
Cheers!
